Okay maybe it's too early to call Jeremy Lin an "Asian Sensation" but apparently there has been some buzz about him signing a contract with the Golden State Warriors. I've never really seen this kid play but seeing his stats during his years at Harvard, this kid knows how to ball. During his last year in Harvard he shot over 50% and 34% at the 3 ball area along with 16.4 PPG, 4.4 Rebounds, 4.4 Assist, 2.4 steals, and 1.1 blocks per game. Even though his Summer League stats aren't as close as when he played in college thats pretty much expected so I don't really wanna put that down on him.
Now there are some talks out there in the blogosphere that it could be that because of his racial background that he was being scouted by the LA Lakers, Golden State Warriors and Dallas Mavericks. Knowing that LA, GSW and Dallas (never been to dallas so not sure about this one) has a big asian fanbase, I really believe that it's not because of his race why these three teams were interested in wanted to sign him. The kid got game and I'm sure scouts have seen that this kid got potential to be in the pros. Sure his match up with John Wall (most likely) boosted his popularity, his athleticism, his defense, the way he attacks the basket played a role in why these 3 teams wanted him. All in all I'm glad that this undrafted kid is given a shot at the pros and I will definitely be watching.
Now if he were to sign with GSW what could he bring to the backcourt of the warriors? Well one thing is that GSW needs the depth. With C.J. Watson signing with chicago GSW is definitely lacking that backup for their 2 backcourt stars Monta Ellis and Stephen Curry. He would also would be a good fit in Don Nelsons run and gun offense. As far as I saw during his Summer League highlights is that he loves to run that ball. Penetrating to the offense, run and pass to the open man, etc...
PS
No he is not going to be a Sun Yue 2.0, one thing for sure is that Jeremy Lin speaks english better than him lmao
